Four places on this site carry advertising. Each one is sold by open auction: you name a price per thousand views and a price per click, put a budget behind it, and the highest offer holds the place until that budget is spent. Every bid is public, including yours.

How the winner is decided

A bid has two prices in two different units, so they are made comparable before anything is ranked. Clicks are converted into views using the rate at which that place actually turns views into clicks:

score = price per 1,000 views  +  price per click × 1,000 × click‑through rate

Both halves then read as rupees per thousand times the advertisement is shown, and the highest score holds the place. Worked through, with two real bids at a 1% click rate:

Per 1,000 viewsPer clickBudgetScore
Bid ARs 2Rs 5Rs 1002 + 5 × 10 = 52
Bid BRs 3Rs 6Rs 503 + 6 × 10 = 63

B runs first, even though A has twice the money behind it, because B is worth more every time it is shown. When B's Rs 50 is gone, A takes the place. A budget buys how long you hold a slot, never whether you hold it — otherwise the biggest wallet would win regardless of what it offered.

You pay what you bid, not a penny less or more. A view of a Rs 30 per thousand bid costs Rs 0.03; a click at Rs 4 costs Rs 4. Spending stops dead at your budget, one view per address per minute is billable, and one click per address per day — so a competitor cannot drain you by holding down F5.

To bid, you need an advertiser account

It takes a minute: open the account, add the advertisement you want shown, and it goes in front of staff for approval. After that you can bid on any place here and it appears immediately.
